The story of the band began in 1987 in Flensburg (Germany). 'Garden Of Pleasures' was composed of Michael Scholz, ex-frontman of a cult 80's goth band Taste Of Decay (vocals), Kim as a drummer, Marc as a guitar player and Steff as a bass player.

GOP had their first gig in 1988 and soon got a reputation of an impressive live band. Unfortunately, in 1992 after several breakups and lineup changes they disbanded, having played for the last time supporting “Every New Dead Ghost”.

Wondervogel records proudly presents a compilation of 17 songs by this awesome hard-to-find band including 15 previously unreleased gems. This tape is released with the permission of Michael Scholz and contains five songs which have been previously published on the compilations “Split-Tape / Three Times Four” of Black Death, “New Alternatives” of Nightbreed Recordings and “The Unknown Eight” of Rain Tapes.

Music of Garden Of Pleasures could be called a kind of mix of Bauhaus, Sad Lovers and Giants, Christian Death, The Snake Corps, and Lowlife.
